Scooter Restoration and Riding
Back in 1995 I purchased a 1954 Cushman Truckster that was formerly an Ice Cream Delivery vehicle. Little did I know that Cushman's are like Lays Potato Chips you can't have just one. While walking one January, through the Southland Mall in Taylor Michigan I discovered a club of Cushman enthusiasts proudly displaying their scooters. Well I joined immediately and have not been the same since

The Motor City Cushman club is unusual in the fact that they don't just restore and then stand back to admire their scooters. They actually ride them as often as possible. My personal favorite is the long distance rides. Wherever the National meet is at we will ride scooters there. Texas and Wyoming were some of the longer rides. I have ridden to Charlotte NC , Spring field MO, Mansfield OH, and Indianapolis IN, Gonzalaes, LA, Bar Harbor ME, and Hutchinson KS. None of this would  be possible without the support of the Motor City Cushman Club Chase Crew (MCCCCC) which are the wife's and friends who follow along behind to pick up the pieces and massage the sore muscles.

The National Cushman Organization is a must join for anyone wanting to restore a scooter.

The Vintage Motorbike Club is another must join they host a Meet in Portland IN every July.

Both of these organizations have a fantastic magazine which is worth the membership fee alone

Camping
Since 1987 My family has been members of the Family Campers and RVers camping organization (formerly known as NCHA-National Campers and Hikers Association. It has given my family numerous friends and rewards. Our children have grown up within the FCRV and have learned many values that they practice today. Whether you are a beginner camper or a seasoned veteran this organization can benefit you, so check out the links below.

Dog Tag Collecting
Since 1977 I have been interested in collecting dog tags and am Life Member #10 in ISALC. My collection spans 3 decades from 1859 to the present. I have tags of various materials such as brass, aluminum, plastic, zinc, steel and fiber. My paper certificates are a personal favorite because of the detail in the printing on some. I also have many different dog collars with and without tags. I am always looking to expand my collection so if you have some old tags found in a drawer you are looking to get rid of or are interested in collecting them yourself drop me an e-mail
